Outdoor dining

February 3, 2014

give me a bite

The weekend sort-of heatwave was good for midtown football fans and street food eaters. There was a line at the halal guys on the corner of 53rd and Sixth. It looked like a dress-down weekday.

Man in khaki jacket (it’s warm this Vet’s Day)

November 12, 2012

No work for some today. Veteran’s Day is always somber, more so this year, as recovery from hurricane moves along slowly. The weather was outstanding, though; no rain on the parade.

If you think this is cold

November 7, 2012

The thermometer hasn’t been below freezing yet, I hate to tell all of you delicate flowers. If you are like this now, you will be an icicle in a few weeks.

First capes of the season

November 5, 2012

The world-famous City Music Hall

October 24, 2012

Another series of gray and rainy days. I’m not complaining, though; I’ll save that for when the temperature is hovering just above freezing. It’s so dark all day most of my pictures are candidates for my Bad Fotos collection.

You’re being watched

October 10, 2012

This was a couple days ago; less than a week in fact. My recent pictures have been rainy and repetitive, dreary and in need of some sunshine.

Last days of warm weather

That’s it, folks, yesterday and today were in the 70’s, nice and warm, but they are saying we may not see those temperatures again for a few months. (They = weather experts and other learned people.)

Heineken truck in rain

October 3, 2012

Rain, neither heavy nor cold, came down yesterday. Looks like more of the same today. I like that the Heineken truck has been localized, with “New York” painted on the back. It’s our beer truck; NYC is a very self-referential town, in case you haven’t noticed.

Pedestrians & a red pick-up

August 24, 2012

No rain, but plenty of gray skies, that’s what a lot of this week has been like.

Make-do rain hat

August 16, 2012

In yesterday’s showers, some were of the belief that the hair must be protected at any cost. It’s not as silly looking as those plastic-bag ponchos the tourists on the double-decker buses wear.
