Forget the fact it’s freezing cold. The lights look nice bouncing off the snow. In addition to Shake Shack (on the right), there’s a new restaurant across this plaza, Hill Country Chicken (to the left). The bourgeois carnivores are moving in.

Don’t look up at the holiday lights, because the streets are icy and that’s where your attention should be focused. Snow on MLK weekend is not surprising, but the abundance of decorations still up is.

Storm’s almost over

Yesterday, every time it seemed as if the snow had stopped, gigantic flakes started coming down again. Manhattan was cleaned up pretty fast. It helped that many people didn’t come in to work, so the sidewalks weren’t as crowded as usual.

Here and gone … Manhattan’s been cleaned up already. Other than the occasional pile of snow, you’d think a mere inch or two had fallen yesterday.
