Playing piano upside down & inside-out

Allora & Calzadilla’s piece “Stop, Repair, Prepare: Variations on ‘Ode to Joy’ for a Prepared Piano” in the second-floor atrium of MOMA consists of a pianist standing inside a grand piano playing Beethoven and moving the instrument around the room. Here, Terezija Cukrov becomes one with the piano; she plays the music, yet the keys affected by the hole cut in the piano are silent, of course.
