At the light with a coffee drink

April 23, 2013

oh

Welcome to New York. Now pay attention to the traffic light.

That smile’s all for me

November 14, 2012

Carry a camera and you’re going to encounter some ham. Some days everyone’s grumpy, so I’ll take this.

South or east?

November 6, 2012

Either way is good: it’s sunny and cool in midtown. After days away, I’m happy to be here. Coming from Brooklyn, not too far away, the commute is painless. Many people further out and in NJ and Long Island are still stuck at home without electricity.

Folded pizza slice technique

August 27, 2012

One of the favorite methods of eating a plain slice is to fold it in half, and consume it sort of like a greasy sandwich. Eating the last bit of crust is always optional. Some view it as a handle and nothing more.

It’s an ongoing battle between the vertical and horizontal in NYC. Today, the view upward is winning.

They heart NY

June 21, 2012

I’m glad someone is loving NY in the hot weather, because when it’s nearly 100 degrees, there are nicer places to be than the city. The heat comes off the pavement and it’s hard to find relief. The air is heavy and grayish… but relief is coming tomorrow, when it should be a few degrees cooler.

One large bag or several small ones

June 20, 2012

When shopping, do you prefer a humongous bag, like the woman on the right, or a couple smaller store bags, like her friend?

A studied, casual look

June 16, 2012

A look this casual takes some planning. You don’t just roll out of bed after a night of partying, late for work, and pick up what’s at hand. It takes shopping, visualization, and nonchalance – either you’re up to the task or you’re not.
