We’ve been having a taste of summer the last couple of days. Temperatures have been in the mid-80′s and the humidity has been high. Thanks, but we’ll take more spring, please.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t these pedestrians have such determination and purpose that their actions appear almost scripted? Maybe we’re witnessing an impromptu theater piece by the Time Warner Center.

This is Cornelia Parker’s “Thirty Pieces of Silver (exhaled)”, silver plated items crushed by an industrial press, seen at the Frieze Art Fair on Randall’s Island over the weekend. The fair was four days of contemporary art shown by 180 dealers in a gigantic tent. The art was uneven, but interesting overall, and the people watching was excellent.

You didn’t expect Hello Kitty to walk, did you? I didn’t know that the cult of the Kitty has drawn in grown men, but I guess it was inevitable.

Dress up to shop? That’s an option. It’s May and above 70 degrees; the toes are making an appearance.

April has been really gray, hasn’t it? Or do I think that every time the sun is behind a cloud? No matter, I have great hopes for the may flowers, and how large and colorful they are going to be.

Economists are happy today because consumers have been spending more. Other indicators are the same. I’m not convinced the economy is picking up; I just like the orange.

I’m not sure if this man is a security guard or a store cop, but I’m quite sure that he has no intention of breaking a sweat on the job today.

This is what all business men used to look like. In some parts of the city this uniform is more common than in others. These two are definitely part of the same tribe and speaking the same language.
